On their own hook.
Life and tools of the Western Maryland colonist in the Mid 18th century.
This program is interactive and shares my knowledge of the life and tools used by the 18th century woodsmen and hunters of our region.
My program can be presented to Civic Groups, Cub Scout Packs, Boy Scout Troops, Venturing Crews, and Middle or High School classes. I also adjust the amount time spent during a presentation on an age specific level. I'm also available to set up an 18th century camp display at local weekend events so your scouts and visitors can get a glimpse into the daily life of the woodsman.
When I perform my program for Boy Scout and Venture units, I adjust the information so that it may instill a better view of where the backpacking and camping equipment that is used by today's scouts actually originated. My other aim is hopefully to instill a desire in our youth to take the next step and attempt some primitive skills like flint and steel fire making or the creation of personal gear to use on outings and trips.
So, if you would like to see a glimpse of what life was like over 200 years ago, or would like your Scouts to see from what their equipment and trekking food evolved, please feel free to contact me.
